5 days of therapy work at Mayo Clinic
We arrived at the Mayo Clinic on Sunday June 27, 2010. Jagr caused a stir everywhere we went. While eating dinner on Sunday we had so many people around us we could hardly eat. One man stood out: He was a farmer from IA who had liver cancer. He could not stop petting Jagr and talking about the sweet dog:)
We met so many great people. The young girl who's cancer had returned and she was awating a transplant....The young boy who's head was bandaged after brain surgery and was out side with his family for the first time....The farmer from NE who could not wait for us to sit down so he could come visit....the lady who had brought her friend for chemo and sat on the floor beside Jagr...who promptly stood and then sat IN HER LAP....Nancy, who is wheel chair bound..a lovely delightful woman we had the privalage of meeting. What a loving caring facility this is. There were people from all over the world! Some people were scared of Jagr, some wanted pictures of him, about 700 were taken in the 5 days we were there. The young woman from Kuwait, told me not to kiss Jagr as he was the devil and would kill me. One man wanted a picture but wrapped his rosary around his hand before setting it on Jagr's head. Jagr was PERFECT in every way. Never made a sound, was gentle and tolerant of everyone. The Drs and nurses loved his visits too.
